NEALE-SILVA, EDUARDO:  Appointed for a study of the Spanish American social novel, with particular reference to the works of José Eustasio Rivera; tenure, nine months from August 15, 1941.

Born December 10, 1905, in Chile. Education:  University of Chile, 1922-25; University of Wisconsin, M.A., 1928, Ph.D., 1935.

Instructor of Spanish, 1929–35, Assistant Professor, 1936—, University of Wisconsin; Lecturer in Spanish, University of Iowa, Summer, 1935.

Publications:  Lecturas Escogidas, 1934; Lecturas Modernas, 1937. Articles in Hispanic Review, Publications of the Modern Language Association, ELH: A Journal of English Literary History.
