NORTHROP, FILMER S. C.:  Appointed for a determination of the nature and status of mathematical and logical form; consultation with European scholars; tenure, twelve months from June 15, 1932.

Born November 27, 1893, at Janesville, Wisconsin. Education:  Beloit College, B.A., 1915; Yale University, M.A., 1919 (Sterling Fellow, 1927); Harvard University, Ph.D., 1924 (Travelling Fellow, 1923–24); University of Freiburg, 1922; Trinity College, Cambridge, 1922–23; Imperial College of Sciences and Technology, London, 1922–23.

Instructor of Philosophy, 1923–26, Assistant Professor, 1926–29, Associate Professor, 1929–32, Professor, 1932—, Yale University; University of Iowa Summer School, 1927; University of Michigan Summer School, 1931; Visiting Professor, 1931–32, University of Virginia.
