PABST, ADOLF:  Appointed for studies of the orientation of minerals in granitic rock and studies of silicate crystal structure; tenure, twelve months from May 15, 1938.

Born November 30, 1899, at Chicago.  Education:  University of Illinois, A.B., 1925; University of California, Ph.D., 1928; American-Scandinavian Foundation Fellow, 1928–29.

Lecturer in Mineralogy, 1927–28, Instructor, 1929–31, Assistant Professor, 1931–36, Associate Professor, 1936—, University of California.

Publications:  Articles in Zeitschrift für physikalische Chemie, American Mineralogist, University of California Publications in Geological Science, Zeitschrift für Kristallographie, American Journal of Science. Editor and reviser of Mineral Tables, by A. S. Eakle, 1938.  Editor and reviser of Minerals of California, 1938.
