Born June 6, 1900, in Austria.  Education:  University of Prague, 1919–20; University of Lwow, 1920–21; McGill University, B.A., 1925, M.A., 1926; University of Montreal, 1926–27; Columbia University, Ph.D., 1938. Social Science Research Fellow, University of Chicago, 1927–28; Research Fellow, Brookings Institution, 1929–30.

Instructor in Economics, 1934—, Hunter College. Assistant Editor, 1930–34, Encyclopaedia of the Social Sciences.
