Rice, John Andrew, Jr.: Appointed for an investigation of the authorship of “A Tale of a Tub,” based on newly-discovered evidence, and of other questions connected therewith; tenure, twelve months from June 15, 1927.

Born February 1, 1888, at Lynchburg, South Carolina. Education: Tulane University, A.B., 1911; Queen’s College, Oxford University, Rhodes Scholar from Louisiana (first class in Jurisprudence), B.A., 1914.

Instructor, Webb School, Tennessee, 1914–16; Instructor, Soldan High School, St. Louis, Missouri, 1919; Associate Professor, 1919—, Chairman of the Department of Classics, 1925—, University of Nebraska.
