RICHARDS, WILLIAM THEODORE:  Appointed for studies in the application to surface phenomena of the methods of statistics and quantum mechanics; research in certain European laboratories; tenure, ten months from April 1, 1932.

Born March 24, 1900, at Cambridge, Massachusetts. Education: Harvard University, B.A., 1921, Ph.D., 1924. Fellow in Science, International Education Board, 1924–26.

Instructor in Chemistry, 1926–28, Assistant Professor, 1928—, Princeton University.

Publications: Articles in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, Journal of Physical Chemistry.
