SCHUSTER, CARL:  Appointed for a comparative study of Chinese folk art; tenure, twelve months from July 1, 1937.

Born November 9, 1904, at Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Education:  Harvard University, B.A., 1927, M.A., 1929 (Harvard-Yenching Fellow, 1929–32); University of Vienna, Ph.D., 1934.

Assistant Curator of Chinese Art, 1935—, Pennsylvania Museum of Art.

Publications:  Articles in Embroidery, Man, Asia. Contributor to Josef Strzygowski’s Spuren indogermanischen Glaubens in der bildenden Kunst, 1936; Monumenta Serica, 1937.
