BLANCH, ARNOLD: Appointed for creative work in painting, abroad; tenure, twelve months from August 22, 1933.
Born June 4, 1896, at Mantorville, Minnesota. Education: Minneapolis Art School, 1913–16; Art Students League, 1916–17, 1920–21.
Instructor of Painting, 1930–31, California School of Fine Arts.
Exhibited at Art Institute of Chicago, Carnegie International, Toledo Museum, Detroit Museum, Pennsylvania Academy, Corcoran Gallery, Cleveland Museum, Century of Progress Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture, College Art Association International. Represented in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Whitney Museum of American Art; Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco; Addison Gallery, Andover, Massachusetts. Awarded Norman Waite Harris Prize, Art Institute of Chicago, 1929; First Anne Bremer Prize, San Francisco Art Association, 1931.
