Tarr, Frederick Courtney:  Appointed to study, in the libraries of Spain, the origin and development of the articulo de costumbres; tenure, eight months from June 1, 1929.

Born May 6, 1896, at Baltimore, Maryland. Education: Johns Hopkins University, B. A., 1915, M. A., 1917; Princeton University, Ph. D., 1921 (Fellow, 1919–20).

Instructor in Spanish, 1920–22, Assistant Professor, 1922–28, Associate Professor, 1928—, Princeton University.

Publications: “Prepositional Complementary Clauses in Spanish,” 1923; “A First Spanish Grammar” (with C. C. Marden), 1926.
