WEISMILLER, EDWARD RONALD.  Appointed for creative writing in the field of poetry; tenure, twelve months from June 1943 (postponed).

Born August 3, 1915, Monticello, Wisconsin.  Education:  Swarthmore College, 1931–32; Cornell College, Iowa, A.B., 1938; University of Oxford, 1938–39 (Rhodes Scholar, Merton College); Harvard University, A.M., 1942.

Publications:  The Deer Come Down, 1936. Poems in American Scholar, Atlantic Monthly, Harper’s Magazine, New Republic, New York Times, Poetry, Saturday Review of Literature, Virginia Quarterly Review. Translator of The Young Concubine, by Makhali-Phal, 1942.
