Stephanie Snider lives and works in New York. She makes drawings, paintings, and sculptures dealing with personal and collective memories. The works utilize architecture as a metaphor for psychological space, while building a both playful and blackly comic theatrical landscape.
She received her M.F.A. from the Yale School of Art and her B.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design. Her work has been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in the U.S. and Europe. In 2000-2001, she was the recipient of the Berlin Prize/Philip Morris Emerging Artist Prize in cooperation with the American Academy in Berlin. She has taught at Princeton University, Maryland Institute College of Art, Ohio University and Yale. She currently teaches at Rhode Island School of Design.
