BIO

Los Angeles-based artist Shirley Tse is a faculty member of the California Institute of the Arts' School of Art. Her sculptures, installations, and photographs have been included in numerous museum exhibitions worldwide, among them The Biennale of Sydney 2002; Bienal Ceara America, Brazil 2002; Kaohshiung Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan; Art Gallery of Ontario, Canada; Museum of Modern Art, Bologna, Italy; San Francsico Museum of Modern Art; New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York City; P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, New York City; and Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, New Zealand.

One-person exhibition venues include Shoshana Wayne Gallery, Santa Monica; Murray Guy, New York City; Perugi Arte Contemporanea, Pardova, Italy; Pomoma College Museum of Art, Claremont; and Para/Site, Hong Kong. In 2002 Ms. Tse was commissioned by Capp Street Project, San Francisco, for a solo installation exhibition. 

She has also been an artist-in-residence at the Skowhegan School of Art, Maine (1995), Banff Center for the Arts, Alberta, Canada (1998), and the Vietnam Art Foundation (2005), and a visiting artist at Yale School of Art, Vermont College, Claremont Graduate Univeristy, California College of the Arts, and Northwestern University. Recently she  received a City of Los Angeles (COLA) Individual Artist Fellowship, for 2008-09.

Recent publications include Sculpture Today by Phaidon (2007).
