ANDREWS, EDWARD DEMING: Appointed for the preparation of a work on the history of the American communal sect of Shakers and of their religious arts; tenure, twelve months from April 1, 1937.
Born March 6, 1894, at Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Education: Amherst College, B.A., 1916; Yale University, Ph.D., 1930.
High school instructor in English and social studies, 1920–27.
