EDEL, ABRAHAM.  Appointed for a systematic study of ethics and value theory; tenure, twelve months from July 1, 1944.

Born December 6, 1908, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Education:  McGill University, B.A., 1927, M.A., 1928; University of Oxford (Moyse Travelling Fellow of McGill University), B.A., 1930; Columbia University (University Fellow, 1930–31), Ph.D., 1934.

Lecturer in Philosophy, 1931–32, Barnard College; Tutor in Philosophy, 1932–34, Instructor, 1934–40, Assistant Professor, 1940—, College of the City of New York.

Publications:  Aristotle’s Theory of the Infinite, 1934. Contributor to The Philosophy of G. E. Moore, 1942; Nature and the Human Spirit, 1944. Articles in Journal of Philosophy, Marxist Quarterly, University of Toronto Quarterly, Barrister, Analysis, Journal of Social Studies, Philosophical Review, Columbia Law Review.
