ESAU, KATHERINE:  Appointed for studies of the anatomy and physiology of vascular plants; tenure, seven months from June 1, 1940.

Born April 3, 1898, in Russia. Education:  College of Agriculture, Moscow, 1916–17; College of Agriculture, Berlin, 1919–22; University of California, Ph.D., 1931.

Assistant in Botany, 1930–31, Instructor and Junior Botanist, 1931–37, Assistant Professor and Assistant Botanist, 1937—, College of Agriculture, University of California.

Publications:  Articles in Hilgardia, Facts about Sugar, Phytopathology, University of California Agricultural Experiment Station Bulletins, American Journal of Botany, Journal of Agricultural Research, Botanical Review.
