EVANS, WALKER: Appointed for the making of record photographs of contemporary American subjects; tenure, twelve months from April 1, 1940.
Born November 3, 1903, at St. Louis, Missouri. Education: Williams College, 1922-23; Sorbonne, 1926.
One-man show, Museum of Modern Art, 1938. Exhibited in Annual Exhibitions of Contemporary American Photography, Philadelphia, 1930 and 1931; Exhibition of Photographs for Art and Industry, New York, 1931; Brooklyn Museum, 1932; Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1933; College Art Association Exhibition, New York, 1936; Pennsylvania Museum of Art, Philadelphia, 1937.
Represented in the permanent collections of Smith College, Wadsworth Athenaeum, Fogg Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art.
