GARY, FRANKLIN.  Appointed for a study of the origins and development of realism as a critical theory of art and literature in England and America; tenure, twelve months from July 1, 1942 (postponed).

Born March 28, 1905, Tyler, Texas.  Education:  Princeton University, A.B., 1927; Columbia University, 1927–28; University of Oxford, B.Litt., 1930.

Instructor in English, 1930–35, Assistant Professor, 1935—, Princeton University.

Publications:  Articles in Symposium, Nation, Publications of the Modern Language Association.
