Associate Professor Bob Goldstein joined the faculty of the Biology Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999.  Mr. Goldstein is known for using creative combinations of primitive and modern techniques in the roundworm C. elegans to dissect fundamental mechanisms in cells and embryos. Before coming to UNC he was a Miller Institute Research Fellow at UC Berkeley and a Human Frontiers Science Program Postdoctoral Fellow at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, England. He received a Pew Scholars Award and a March of Dimes Basil O'Connor Scholars Award in 2000, and a Phillip and Ruth Hettleman Prize for Artistic and Scholarly Achievement in 2005. He was elected as a Life Fellow of Cambridge University's Clare Hall in 2008.
