BACHMANN, WERNER EMMANUEL:  Appointed for investigations in the field of sex hormones, the sterols and the bile acids, in certain European laboratories; tenure, seven and one-half months from June 15, 1935.

Born November 13, 1901, at Detroit, Michigan. Education:  University of Michigan, B.S.E., 1923, M.S., 1924, Ph.D., 1926; Fellow of the International Education Board at the University of Zürich, 1928–29.

Instructor in Chemistry, 1925–29, Assistant Professor, 1929—, University of Michigan; Visiting Assistant Professor, University of Illinois, Summer, 1931.

Publications: Articles in Journal of the American Chemical Society, Helvetica Chimica Acta, Organic Syntheses. Laboratory Manual of Organic Chemistry, 1933 (with L. C. Anderson).
