INGALLS, JEREMY.  Appointed for creative writing in the field of poetry; tenure, twelve months from June 1, 1943.

Born April 2, 1911, Gloucester, Massachusetts. Education:  Tufts College, B.A., 1932, M.A., 1933; University of Chicago, various periods, 1938–41.

Teacher, 1935–41, Gloucester High School; Instructor in English, 1941–43, Assistant Professor, 1943—, Western College.

Publications:  A Book of Legends, 1941; The Metaphysical Sword, 1941 (received the Yale Series of Younger Poets Award).  Poems in New Republic, Saturday Review of Literature, Poetry, Atlantic Monthly, American Mercury, Common Sense, English Journal, American Prefaces, Christendom, Accent.
