JAMES, HUBERT MAXWELL:  Appointed for studies of the application of wave mechanics to the computation of intensities in band spectra; tenure, twelve months from August 15, 1939.

Born March 10, 1908, at Clarksburg, West Virginia.  Education:  Randolph-Macon College, A.B., 1928; Harvard University, A.M., 1930, Ph.D., 1934.

Instructor and Tutor in Physics, 1931–34, Harvard University; Assistant Professor of Physics, 1936–38, Associate Professor, 1938—, Purdue University.

Publications:  Articles in Physical Review, Journal of Chemical Physics, Astrophysical Journal.
