Jones, Leslie Webber:  Appointed to study, in various Continental libraries, certain manuscripts belonging to the School of Tours and to related schools in order to establish criteria for the identifying and dating of manuscripts written at Tours and to trace their influence upon the work of other scriptoria; tenure, nine months from April 15, 1929.

Born March 4, 1900, at Schenectady, New York. Education: Union College, A. B., 1921 (Tayler Lewis Scholar and Alexander Scholar, 1919–21); Harvard University, A. M., 1923, Ph. D., 1925 (University Scholar, 1922–24; William Watson Goodwin Fellow, 1924–25; Sheldon Travelling Fellow, 1925–26).

Instructor in Latin, 1926–27, Yale University; Assistant Professor of Latin, 1927–28, University of California, Berkeley; Associate Professor of Classics, Oberlin College, first semester of 1928–29.

Publications: Articles in Classical Philology, Speculum, The University of California Publications in Classical Philology, and the Art Bulletin.
