Born June 5, 1915, in New York.  Education:  College of the City of New York, B.S., 1935; Columbia University, A.M., 1938.

Visiting Instructor in English, Summers, 1937–39, Tutor, 1939—, College of the City of New York; Tutor, Queens College, 1940—.

Publications:  Essays and reviews in New Republic, American Mercury, Saturday Review of Literature, New York Times Book Review, New York Herald Tribune Books, Scribner’s Magazine.
