Kemble, Edwin Crawford: Appointed to continue his researches in the application of the quantum theory to molecules, principally with Professor Max Born, at the University of Göttingen, Germany; tenure, seven months from February 1, 1927.

Born January 28, 1889, at Delaware, Ohio. Education: Ohio Wesleyan University, 1906–07; Case School of Applied Science, S.B., 1911; Harvard University, A.M., 1914, Ph.D., 1917.

Assistant Instructor in Physics, 1911–12, Instructor, 1912–13, Carnegie Institute of Technology; Engineering Physicist, Curtiss Motor Corporation, Buffalo, 1917–18; Instructor, Williams College, January-June, 1919; Instructor in Physics, 1919–23, (Bayard Cutting Research Fellow) Assistant Professor, 1923—, Harvard University. Member, Editorial Board of Physical Review. Chairman, subcommittee on Radiation in Gases, National Research Council.
