BARTHÉ, RICHMOND:  Appointed for creative work in sculpture; tenure, twelve months from June 1, 1940.

Born January 28, 1901, at Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.  Education:  Art studies, Art Institute of Chicago, 1924–28; Julius Rosenwald Fund Fellowship, 1930.

One-man shows:  Women’s City Club, Chicago, 1930; University of Wisconsin, 1931. Exhibited at Chicago Art League, Chicago Women’s Club, Fisk University, Women’s City Club of New York, Harmon Foundation Exhibitions, New School for Social Research, Salons of America, Whitney Museum of American Art, Brooklyn Museum, University of Chicago, College Art Association, Travelling Exhibitions, University of Minnesota, Corcoran Gallery, Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, Dillard University, Howard University, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Carnegie Institute, Century of Progress Exhibition, Baltimore Museum of Art, Sculptors Guild, New York World’s Fair, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Harlem Art Galleries, 1928-39.
