Lattimore, Owen: Appointed to gather materials in Central Asia for a book to be entitled “Frontiers of Inner Asia,” dealing with present conditions in Manchuria and Chinese Turkistan with special reference to their historical and geographical background; tenure, twelve months from October 1, 1930.
Born July 29, 1900, at Washington, D.C. Education: College Classique Cantonak, Lausanne, 1913–14; St. Bees School, Cumberland, England, 1915–19.
