MACK, MAYNARD. Appointed for the preparation of a critical edition of Alexander Pope’s Essay on Man; tenure, twelve months from July 1, 1942.

Born October 27, 1909, Hillsdale, Michigan.  Education:  Yale University, A.B., 1932, Ph.D., 1936. Eldridge-Hurtt Fellow, 1933–36, and Samuel R. Betts Fellow, 1933–36, Yale University; Blanche Elizabeth MacLeish Billings Memorial Award, Summer, 1941, for study at the Huntington and University of Texas Libraries.

Instructor in English, 1936–40, Assistant Professor, 1940—, Yale University.
