MacLennan, HUGH.  Appointed for creative writing in the field of the novel; tenure, twelve months from June 1, 1943.

Born March 20, 1907, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Education:  Dalhousie University, B.A., 1929; University of Oxford, B.A., 1932 (Rhodes Scholar, Oriel college); Princeton University, M.A., 1934, Ph.D., 1935.

Head of Classics Department, 1935—, Lower Canada College, Montreal.

Publications:  Oxyrhynchus: An Economic and Social Study, 1935; Barometer Rising, 1941. Articles in Dalhousie Review, Christian Science Monitor, Montreal Standard. Author of “Twelve Million Neighbors,” radio scripts for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, 1942.
