Born March 20, 1907, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Education: Dalhousie University, B.A., 1929; University of Oxford, B.A., 1932 (Rhodes Scholar, Oriel college); Princeton University, M.A., 1934, Ph.D., 1935.
Head of Classics Department, 1935—, Lower Canada College, Montreal.
