MANGRAVITE, PEPPINO: Appointed for creative work in painting, abroad; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1932.

Born June 28, 1896, in Italy. Education: Scuole Tecniche and Le Belli Arti, Italy, 1908–14; Cooper Union, New York City, 1915–16.

Head, Art Department, 1930–32, Ethical Culture Schools.

Exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, 1927, 1929; Corcoran Gallery, 1926, 1929, 1931; Phillips Memorial Gallery, 1928, 1929, 1930, 1931; Newark Museum, 1929; Art Institute of Chicago, 1928, 1930, 1931; Carnegie Institute, 1929, 1931; Cleveland Museum, 1930, 1931; Toledo Museum, 1929, 1931; Los Angeles Museum, 1929, 1931; Detroit Museum, 1929, 1930, 1931. Awarded Gold Medal, Kunstgewerbe Verein, 1925; Gold Medal, Philadelphia Sesquicentennial Exposition, 1926. Represented in the permanent collections of the Phillips Memorial Gallery, Whitney Museum of American Art, College Art Association.
