Henry Eric Hernández is a transdisciplinary artist and social researcher who was born in Cuba. He is a Graduate in Fine Arts from the Higher Art Institute of Havana and earned a Ph.D in media studies from the Complutense University of Madrid.

In addition to his Guggenheim Fellowship, Henry Eric has received fellowships from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation (New York), The Christoph Merian Stiftung (Basel), and The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Geneva-Havana. He has also received numerous grants and residences, including the Visual Art Prize, Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation in Havana; Artist in Residence, Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation in Madrid; Artist in Residence, Neutral Ground-Contemporary Art Forum, Regina; and the Saloni Cultural Association Art Prize, Castellón.

Henry Eric has participated in the Havana, Valencia–São Paulo, and Ceramics in Contemporary Art biennales. Among the group shows that have featured his art are While Cuba waits: Art from the nineties (Track 16 Gallery, LA), and Doble seducción (INJUVE, Madrid).

Perceval Press has published two of his works:  Revenge (2006) and Another Island for Miguel (2008).
