Lucas, Henry S.:  Appointed to make a study of the political, social, economic, and cultural history of the Low Countries, especially Flanders, from about 1280 to 1360; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1929. (Postponed to September 1, 1930.)

Born March 5, 1892, at Jamestown, Michigan. Education: Olivet College, A. B., 1913; Indiana University, M. A., 1915; University of Michigan, Ph.D., 1922 (University Fellow in History and Philology, 1917–18). Fellow in History, C. R. B. Educational Foundation, 1926–27.
