Nets Katz received a B.A. in Mathematics from Rice University in 1990 and a Ph.D.in Mathematics under Dennis DeTurck at University of Pennsylvania in 1993. After postdoctoral positions at Yale, Edinburgh, and MSRI, he has held an assistant professorship at University of Illinois Chicago and an associate professorship at Washington University St. Louis before moving to Indiana University Bloomington where he is now full professor, He has done research in additive and geometric combinatorics, harmonic analysis, geometric measure theory, and fluid mechanics. He is currently managing editor of the Indiana University Mathematics Journal.
