Knaplund, Paul: Appointed for the preparation of a monograph on “Gladstone as a Colonial Statesman,” and for other studies of men important in the shaping of British colonial policy, in certain libraries in England; tenure, six months from August 1, 1926.

Born February 5, 1885, at Bodö, Norway; naturalized, Red Wing, Minnesota, October 4, 1913. Education: St. Olaf College, B.A., 1913; University of Wisconsin, M.A., 1914, Ph.D., 1919; research in British archives, 1922–23.
