Sheldon H. Jacobson’s research has been reported in the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, and the Boston Globe, editorialized in the New York Times, discussed in Business Week, Forbes, and Kiplinger, and in person on CNBC’s Street Signs and The Closing Bell, Washington Post Radio, and The Osgood Files on CBS radio. The author of nearly 200 journal research articles, book chapters, conference proceeding papers, and professional and editorial papers, Professor Jacobson received the Aviation Security Research Award, sponsored by Aviation Security International, International Air Transport Association, and Airports Council International, the Outstanding IIE Publication Award and the Award for Technical Innovation in Industrial Engineering, both from the Institute of Industrial Engineers, and a Guggenheim Fellowship from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.  Jacobson’s current research focuses on the application of operations research to problems in aviation security and public health.
