Hoopes, Thomas Temple:  Appointed to complete a study of the history of firearms from their invention to the introduction of automatic manufacturing machinery; tenure, twelve months from October 1, 1930.

Born March 31, 1898, at Boston, Massachusetts. Education: Harvard College, A.B., 1919; New York University, A.M., 1926 (Resident research fellow in Fine Arts, 1929–30).

Assistant Curator, Department of Arms and Armor, 1920–27, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City.
