Liana Finck is the author of several graphic novels, including How to Baby (Random House, 2024), Let There Be Light (Random House, 2022), and Passing For Human (Random House, 2019), as well as a children’s book, You Broke It (Penguin Workshop, 2024), and is a regular cartoonist for The New Yorker. She is a recipient of a National Jewish Book award, an Edward Lewis Wallant Award, a Fulbright Fellowship, a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, and a Six Points Fellowship for Emerging Jewish Artists. She has had artist residencies with the American Academy in Berlin, the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Headlands Center for the Arts, and Willapa Bay. Finck also posts her more autobiographical cartoons and comics online—these days in the form of a Substack newsletter—and teaches creative nonfiction at Barnard College. She graduated from Cooper Union College in 2008.
