Planned gifts are a meaningful way for forward-thinking donors to help ensure that the Guggenheim Fellowship program will continue to flourish.
Generous donors have included the Foundation in their estate plans through bequests in support of the overall Fellowship program or for specific fields of study.
For example, Philip Roth, a Guggenheim Fellow in Fiction, left a cash bequest to the Foundation that has provided funding in support of writers, as well as the creative arts. In addition, Roth bequeathed 100% of the royalties from all of his books for the benefit of the Foundation.
Alternatives to a bequest include gifts of appreciated securities, retirement assets, or life insurance. Please consult with your financial advisor to determine the options that are available to you.
