Born April 11, 1916, Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Education:  Music studies, Conservatory of Music of Buenos Aires, 1928–36; National Conservatory of Music and Drama, 1936–38.

Professor of Music, 1941—, Military School “General San Martín”; Professor of Theory, 1941—, Assistant Professor of Harmony, 1942—, Argentine National Conservatory of Music and Drama.

Musical compositions:  Cantos del Tucumán, awarded the Music Prize of the Argentine National Commission of Culture, 1938; Danzas Argentinas, awarded second prize by the Argentine National Commission of Fine Arts, 1938; Parambí, ballet, awarded the ballet prize of the Colón Theatre, 1940, and at the Municipal Theatre, Santiago, Chile, 1941; Arriero Canto, awarded first prize in the Argentine School Song Contest, 1939; Sonatina para Arpa, awarded First Municipal Music Prize, Buenos Aires, 1939; Salmo 150, awarded the Municipal Music Prize, 1940; Estancia, ballet, commissioned by the American Ballet Caravan, 1941; Sinfonía Porteña, first performed at the Colón Theatre, 1942; music composed for the film “Malambo,” 1942.
