BROOK, ALEXANDER:  Appointed for creative work in painting, abroad; tenure, six months from June 1, 1931.

Born July 14, 1898, in New York City. Education:  Art Students League.

Awarded Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Logan Medal and Purchase Prize, Art Institute of Chicago, 1929; second prize, and Lehman Prize and Purchase Fund, Carnegie International Exhibition, Pittsburgh, 1930; Temple Gold Medal, Pennsylvania Academy, 1931. Represented in permanent collections of Museum of Living Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art, Hamilton Easter Field Foundation. Exhibited at Museum of Modern Art.
