Fairbanks, Avard: Appointed to do creative work in sculpture, principally in Italy; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1927.

Born March 2, 1897, at Provo, Utah. Education: Art Students League, New York City, Board of Control Scholarship, 1910–11 and the S. A. F. Scholarship, 1911–12; Ecole Nationale Des Beaux Arts, Ecole Colorossi, Ecole La Grande Chaumière, and Ecole Moderne, Paris, 1913–14; Yale University, School of Fine Arts, 1924–25, B. F. A.; pupil of John B. Fairbanks, James E. Fraser, Charles R. Knight, J. Leo Fairbanks, A. P. Proctor, Henry Davenport, Robert George Eberhard, and Jean Antoine Ingalbert.
