BOOTH, CAMERON.  Appointed for creative work in painting; tenure, twelve months from June 1, 1942.

Born March 11, 1892, Erie, Pennsylvania.  Education:  Art Institute of Chicago, 1912–27; John Quincy Adams Foreign Traveling Scholarship, 1917. Further travel and studies in art in Europe, 1927, 1928, and 1932.

Instructor in Drawing and Painting, 1920–29, Minneapolis School of Art; Instructor in Fine Arts and Director of the School, 1929—, St. Paul School of Art. Visiting Instructor, University of California, Summer, 1925, Art Institute of Chicago, Summer, 1940.

Exhibitions:  One-man shows, Denver Museum, 1936; St. Paul Public Library, 1938. Exhibited at Carnegie Institute, Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles Museum, Pan-American Exhibition, Art Institute of Chicago, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Rochester Memorial Art Gallery, Albright Art Gallery, Detroit Institute of Art, Newark Art Association, Art Association of Indianapolis, Portland Art Association, San Diego Fine Arts Gallery, New York World’s Fair, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Awarded First Prizes: Minnesota State Art Society, 1921; Minnesota State Fair, 1923; Twin City Annual Exhibition, 1925 and 1926; Midwestern Artists, 1937. Represented in permanent collections of the Denver Museum, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Newark Art Association, Phillips Memorial Gallery, San Francisco Municipal Museum, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis Institute of Art, Metropolitan Museum.
