Kany, Charles Emil: Appointed to study in Madrid the unedited works of Don Ramón de la Cruz, and other materials, in preparation of a book to be entitled “Life in Madrid during the Second Half of the Eighteenth Century”; tenure, twelve months from August 15, 1928.

Born July 6, 1895, at Dolgeville, New York. Education: Royal Academy of Music, Vienna, 1912–14; University of Michigan, B.A., 1917; Harvard University, M.A., 1918, Ph.D., 1920 (Thayer Fellow, 1918–19, Harris Fellow, 1919–20, Sheldon Traveling Fellow, 1920–21); École des Haute Études, Paris, 1920–21.

Associate in Spanish, 1921–22, Bryn Mawr College; Instructor in Spanish, 1922–23, Assistant Professor, 1923—, University of California.
