SILK, EDMUND TAITE.  Appointed for the preparation of an edition of Nicolas Trivet’s commentary on Boethius’ Consolatio Philosophiae; tenure, twelve months from the Summer of 1942 (postponed).

Born August 16, 1901, West Haven, Connecticut.  Education:  Yale University, B.A., 1924, M.A., 1927, Ph.D., 1930. Fellow in Classics at the American Academy in Rome, 1929–31.

Instructor in Classics, 1927–33, Assistant Professor, 1933–36, Assistant Professor of Latin, 1936–40, Associate Professor, 1941—, Yale University.

Publications:  Contributor (with C. B. Welles) to Excavations at Dura-Europos, 1934. Editor of Volume IX of Papers and Monographs of the American Academy in Rome, 1935. Articles and reviews in Transactions and Proceedings of the American Philological Association, Harvard Theological Review, Speculum, American Journal of Philology, Classical Weekly.
