COMBELLACK, FREDERICK MALCOLM:  Appointed for a study of some problems of Homer’s style and literary technique; tenure, twelve months from August 1, 1942.

Born May 30, 1906, Placerville, California.  Education:  Stanford University, B.A., 1928 (Royall Victor Fellow, 1930–31); University of Oxford, 1931–32; University of California, Ph.D., 1936 (University Fellow in Greek, 1934–36; Research Fellow, 1937).

Instructor in Classics, University of Oregon, 1937—. Instructor in Classics, University of Washington, Summers, 1940 and 1941.
