Born March 19, 1912, Punta Arenas, Chile. Education:  School of Medicine of the University of Chile, Licenciate in Medicine, 1937, Medical Surgeon, 1938.

Hematologist, 1934–40, Salvador, Hospital, Santiago; Assistant in the Biological Institute, 1936–37, Head of Practical Work, 1938, Head of the Laboratory, 1939—, School of Medicine of the University of Chile; Assistant Physician in the Department of Parasitology, 1937–43, Chief of Chagas Disease Section, 1944, Public Health Service, Chile; Assistant Professor of Parasitology, 1942–44, School of Medicine of the University of Chile.
