PORTELL VILA, HERMINIO:  Appointed to study the historical relationship between Cuba and the United States, in particular the question of annexation, in libraries and archives in the United States; tenure, twelve months from July 7, 1931.

Born June 18, 1901, at Cárdenas, Matanzas, Cuba. Education:  Instituto Provincial de Matanzas, B.A., and B.S., 1923; University of Havana, LL.D., 1927.

Assistant Professor, Pious Schools of Havana, 1923–26; Instructor in Cuban History, University of Havana, 1928—. Assistant Editor of Revista Bimestre Cubana, Archivos del Folklore Cubano and Surco; Editor-in-chief of Carteles.
