Slater, John Clarke:  Appointed to do research in quantum mechanics, in Europe; tenure, eight months from June 1, 1929.

Born December 22, 1900, at Oak Park, Illinois. Education: University of Rochester, A. B., 1920; Harvard University, A. M., 1922, Ph. D., 1923 (Whiting Fellowship, 1921–22; Tyndall Fellowship, 1922–23; Sheldon Travelling Fellowship, 1923–24).

Instructor in Physics, 1924–25, Assistant Professor, 1925—, Harvard University.
