CURTIS, JOHN THOMAS.  Appointed for studies of the ecological status of the “Lake Forest” of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ontario; its history, original composition, and present condition; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1942.

Born September 20, 1913, Waukesha, Wisconsin.  Education:  Carroll College, B.A., 1934; University of Wisconsin, M.A., 1935, Ph.D., 1937.

Research Assistant in Botany, 1934–35, Mitogenetic Ray Investigation, Radiation Committee, National Research Council; Research Assistant in Limnology, Summer, 1935, Wisconsin Geologic and Natural History Survey; Instructor in Botany, Spring, 1940, University of Pennsylvania; Instructor in Botany, 1937–40, Assistant Professor, 1941—, and Director of Arboretum Research, 1940—, University of Wisconsin.
