Joseph J. Hickey

HICKEY, JOSEPH J.  Appointed for analyses of approximately 250,000 records of banded birds to learn their life expectancies in the wild, their population turnover in nature, and other facts of value to conservationists; and the mapping and charting of migration routes of North American birds, especially for those species that are becoming endangered by civilization; tenure, twelve months.

Born April 16, 1907, in New York City.  Education: New York University, B.S., 1930; University of Wisconsin, M.S., 1943; University of Chicago, 1943—.

Senior Agricultural Aid, 1941–43, Wisconsin State Soil Conservation Commission; Research Assistant in Pharmacology, 1943—, University of Chicago; research for Office of Scientific Research and Development, 1944—.
