Lewis, Julian Herman: Appointed to study the chemical and immunological specificity of proteins isolated from organs as an approach to a study of the fundamental nature of immunity phenomena, particularly the relation of chemical constitution to biological specificity, principally in the laboratories of Dr. Robert Doerr at the Hygienischen Institut of the University of Basel, and of Dr. Rudolf Kraus at the Staatlichen Serotherapeutischen Institut in Vienna; tenure, twelve months from September 1, 1926.

Born May 26, 1891, at Shawneetown, Illinois. Education: University of Illinois, A.B., 1911, M.A., 1912; University of Chicago, Ph.D., 1915; Rush Medical College, M.D., 1917.
